About
Guiding people, organizations, companies and communities through grief.
Lisa Orris knows grief because she’s lived it. For over 20 years, she has walked with people through all kinds of pain, giving them permission to feel. She is the founder of Grief Guide, a nonprofit organization dedicated to guiding people, organizations, companies, and communities through grief. Lisa’s work has gained her recognition in her local community where she was recently named one of McHenry County, IL Women of Distinction in 2023. Lisa is an ordained minister in the Evangelical Covenant Church and holds a Master of Divinity from North Park Theological Seminary. She spent her undergraduate years at Gannon University earning a degree in Criminology. Lisa has presented at the county level at the People in Need Forum, Community Connection Summit, and most recently, at the Psychiatric Nurses Association (IL) at Roosevelt University. At home, Lisa is married to Bill, chaplain at the Northern Illinois Recovery Center. Together, they raised three children: Billy—forever in their hearts and with the Lord—Lauren, and Michael. Her greatest joys these days are her three grandsons: Micah, Malachi, and Theo. When Lisa is not speaking, leading, or guiding people she loves to be by the lake, take long walks and savor a good Italian meal.
